Home to one of the most breathtaking viewpoint in all of Canyonlands National Park, the Grandview Point overlook treats visitors to incredible views of Monument Basin and the La Sal Mountains.

  • Located 12 miles south of the Island in the Sky Visitors Center.
  • The hike to the overlook is only 2 miles long, and visitors of all ages and fitness levels will enjoy the trip.
  • If you’re looking for a change in perspective, follow the short trail to the right of the overlook.

Overview

Visitors come to Grandview Point for a chance to experience one of the most breathtaking views in all of Canyonlands National Park. The viewpoint is accessible via a short 2 mile hike.  From the summit expect views of Monument Basin and the La Sal Mountains.

Location & Information

Access the trailhead from the Island in the Sky Visitors Center. Follow the road 12 miles south, until you reach its end at Grandview Overlook.

Activities

If you’re coming to Grandview Point, you’re coming for the views, and believe us when we tell you they’re tremendous. From the overlook you’ll admire unrivaled views of Monument Basin and the La Sal Mountains. If you’re looking for additional sightseeing, take to the trail to the right (marked by the cairns) of the overlook for a change in perspective.
