You can literally run through Moab in the winter as a participant in the Annual Winter Sun 10k.

  • The Annual Winter Sun 10k road race takes place in Moab Utah in early December.
  • The course starts in town and winds through residential areas, ending at the Grand County High School Track.

Overview: The Annual Winter Sun 10k road race is a fun filled, family friendly small town run taking place in early December in Moab when the air is winter crisp and the skies are clear and sunny. For the past 26 years, locals and visitors alike have participated in the Annual Winter Sun 10K at Moab, Utah in early December. 

When: A December race

Where : The Moab High school

Fee : Early registration fees and on the day of the race fees apply. In addition to receiving a colorful long sleeve tech shirt and plenty of delicious food treats, runners are eligible for various prizes.

Details : The actual race starts at 10 am.

The first 700 participants will be guaranteed a long-sleeve tech shirt.

Shuttles to the start will depart at 8:45 AM on Saturday from the High School parking lot; there will be no post-race shuttle.

Several lodging establishments in Moab offer special rates to all race participants.

Following the race, refreshments will be provided near the finish at the High School. Raffle drawings will take place for cool stuff from the local merchants at this awards ceremony.

The run usually starts at the Moab Golf Course and then traverses through the quiet neighborhoods of Moab. The finish line is at the Grand County High School Track. The course is mostly flat or downhill, making it a favorite.
