There are fantastic hiking trails in Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. However, your hiking adventures in southern Utah can continue even outside the Parks.

The general area surrounding Moab contains numerous trails – something for everyone and for every experience level. Check out the wonderful hiking trails everywhere in the area!

Regardless of what you are looking for, there are numerous hiking trails near Moab, Utah. You can find a relaxing streamside hike or one that takes you to picturesque sandstone arches. You can find exciting day hikes desirable for individuals, couples and/or families.

Generally, within a one half hour drive of Moab, you can find many hiking trails suitable for everyone regardless of their age or their ability. One of the closest trailheads to town is only about two miles from downtown, while the farthest away is twenty-three miles. Many of the trails are great for that half day outing. The Hidden Valley and Moab Rim Trails can be combined for a longer one-way hike. Local trails include Portal Overlook, Corona Arch, Fisher Towers Trails, Negro Bill Canyon, Moab Rim, Hidden Valley, and Hunter Canyon.

Before taking out on any hike, be sure to take plenty of water, some food, and appropriate clothing. Always go prepared and make sure that someone knows when to expect you back.
