Wahweap is the largest marina in Lake Powell. Located about six miles from Page and very close to Glen Canyon Dam, Wahweap is the ideal place to stock up on amenities, rent a houseboat, clean fish, shop, and basically enjoy all that the populated side of Lake Powell has to offer. Because Wahweap is not located in Utah, you can even fish off the docks without a Lake Powell stamp.
Lake Powell is located both in Utah and Arizona. Wahweap marina is located on the Arizona side, just a few miles away from Page. Besides medium- to large-sized hotels and restaurants, you'll find gas stations, six lanes of launching ramps, boat repair and boat rental stations, boat slips, souvenir shops, and more here. Whether you're in an RV or with a tent, you'll find camping opportunities at Wahweap. More basic amenities such as a ranger station, restrooms, camping, RV parking, and drinking water are also available.
Because Wahweap is so full of amenities, it's an ideal place to begin your Lake Powell vacation. Spend a day here stocking up on supplies, getting your boat ready for the lake, and enjoying the benefits of the marina. If you don't have a boat, you can charter a guided boat tour from Wahweap to places like Rainbow Bridge, or you can rent a houseboat here. Picnic Beach near Wahweap Marina is a good place to bring the kids. There's a designated swimming area that's off-limits to watercraft, so your kids can swim safely here. Note that Picnic Beach does not contain restrooms or a lifeguard.
You can also fish from Wahweap Marina. Look for the fishing dock located close to the marina store. With your Arizona license, you can fish for free here. Note that you also won't require a Lake Powell stamp.
