Fun For Kids

To wonder whether Moab offers any fun for kids is like wondering if Bill Gates is financially well-off. The entire area is nature's version of a summer vacation theme park. Instead of wondering, as a parent, "what to do" you'll find yourself questioning "how can we fit it all in."

Moab is chock-full of outdoor activities for your kids. Arches National Park, just to the north of Moab on Route 191, features many hiking trails that are short and easy, suitable for all ages. Sand Dune Arch, located towards the end of the park south of Devils Garden, is especially kid-friendly with its sandbox-like features.

Calm, Class I sections of the Green and Colorado Rivers are perfect for one or two-day float trips. Many raft Utah companies will take kids as young as five-years old down these parts of the rivers.

Or for historical fun Potash Road, just north of Moab off of Route 191, offers several walls of Indian petroglyphs that can be viewed without even leaving your vehicle. And at Poison Spider Trailhead, less than a mile beyond the Indian art, lies several, well-preserved dinosaur tracks.
