In addition, Amtrak trains conveniently stop in the nearby town of Green River, Utah, just 45 minutes from Moab and all its outdoor recreation.
Several motels are available for train passengers who arrive in this small town of 900, but there is no car rental service. Amtrak railroad passengers who require car rental services may instead disembark at Grand Junction, Colorado and drive 2 hours to Moab or hire a shuttle service from that city.
Amtrak's California Zephyr runs daily so service is convenient. For your comfort during the rail journey, you can reserve a spacious coach seat or a "roomette" or bedroom in one of the sleeping cars.
